Despite what you may have thought, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. It has been a crazy busy summer and the next few months promise to be the same but I’m going to do my best to keep you all up to date on my holiday festivities and decorating.
So let me get you up to speed.
June, July, and August were filled with getting our house ready for an appraisal and getting together necessary paperwork for our mortgage. In August we FINALLY closed on our house and officially became first-time home owners!
Then came September. In September my hubby and I became proud parents of a 9-week-old beagle puppy. After much debate between car parts, makes and models and cute girly names we decided to call her Liberty, “Libby” for short. Life with Libby has been eventful to say the least. Upon bringing her home we found out she had the two dreaded pests to pet owners everywhere, fleas and worms. Libby has been a real challenge to house train and is still not quite there but we are definitely getting closer. All in all though, bringing a puppy into our family has been a fun ride. I’ll tell you more about her in another post.
In October, my hubby and I celebrated 2 years of happily married bliss and I celebrated becoming another year older. We also found out in October that our house has not been draining well for the past few months because the drainage pipes coming out of the house were pretty well blocked shut. Some days I don’t know what we would do without my daddy and his farm equipment. My dad had the old drainage dug up and new put in within two days. After having problems with our well when we first moved into the house in September 2014, we were prepared with wet ones and pitchers full of water while the drain was being fixed. So, our yard has yet another patch with no grass(hoping to get that planted soon), but we are no longer standing in water in the shower so that is definitely a blessing. Hoping and praying the rest of 2015 is as incident-free as possible!
I am so excited to begin the holiday season with all of you! It is going to be a busy few weeks, but I hope to make them full of sharing with you recipes, crafts, decorating and gift ideas.
