Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is led by the powerhouse duo Katy (Wild and Wanderful) & Angelica (Gardening in High Heels). We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!
What a week last week was! My parents took a much-needed vacation which left Hubby and I and my sister and her husband to run their farm for the week. While the guys did most of the work, we girls helped out where we could when we weren’t at our jobs and I wasn’t watching Little Man. It was definitely pretty busy but overall it was a good week and my grandparents all seemed to enjoyed watching Little Man while we worked. Anyway, on to Sunday Lately…on Monday, oops!
This week’s themes are: Mending, Beginning, Doodling, Musing and Applauding.
Mending… my body! Getting active last week was super good for me but I was feeling a few aches and pains too from all the time I’ve spent on my recliner instead of my Pilates mat. This week will be a week to get in a few easy and relaxing workouts before I focus on the more intense ones to get my core back to where it was pre-baby.
Beginning…to get a bit more active!!! Last week I finally crested 30,000 steps with my Fitbit between Monday and Friday last week. Still nowhere close to where I want to be but, in the beginning days with Little Man I was happy if I got in 3,000 steps a day. Seriously though, with a baby boy this cute its a struggle to do more walking and less cuddling!
Doodling… a workout schedule. I’m part of the amazing Balanced Life Sisterhood run by ever-inspiring Robin Long who in my eyes is the queen of Pilates. As part of the sisterhood we are provided with at least one new workout video every month and due to being pregnant and a mixture of having not willpower to workout and not being able to physically do all things Pilates I have a lot of new workouts to catch up on. So this month instead of following the month’s schedule I’m going to work on catching up on what I missed. There is one called Restorative Pilates that I’ve been hearing about and can’t wait to try!
Musing… over how to make a schedule to help me get my house clean. Honestly, I think I have at least one room in my house that has not been vacuumed in over a month, and I have no idea when my kitchen floor was scrubbed last. I think I’m going to try taking a page from my Mama’s notebook and making out a to do list and whatever doesn’t get done moving it to the next day’s list.
Applauding…all of Hubby’s help lately. Hubby started working for my parents on their farm a few weeks ago and I think we are both loving how much more time he now has at home. The farm is less than a 5-minute drive away so his commute alone is much shorter and his work days are a bit shorter too. As a result of this change, Hubby has been able to do a lot more grilling and helping with other meals which has been a huge help now that my evenings consist of entertaining a 2-month-old and cooking simultaneously.
