Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is led by the powerhouse duo Katy (Wild and Wanderful) & Angelica (Gardening in High Heels). We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!
Sigh…always a day late and a dollar short. I had every intention of getting this posted on…well…Sunday but it was not to be. I did manage to get a good bit done over the weekend though which kinda makes up for it. Anyway, without further rambling Sunday Lately…
Solving… all of the world’s problems! Don’t I wish! LOL but I am solving my problem with reusing some of the waste from my kitchen. We’ve started composting here at the Glitter & Grease house! I’m working with a simple flowerpot set up for now until we can afford something more high-tech. I have one (pretty big) flowerpot about 1/8th full and the plan is to buy two more over the next few paychecks so I have one “cooking,” another I am adding compostable materials to, and a third that I can dump the other two into from time to time to mix things up a bit. Hubby isn’t so sure about this yet but I’m super excited about it!
Hanging… with my sister on Skype about once a week. My “little” sister (who is a bit taller than me and only about 2 1/2 years younger) is in the US Navy and is out of the state getting ready to head overseas. Skype has become such a blessing for us. It allows us to keep in contact in a bit more personal way than text messages and she can talk to Little Man, see him grow, and see his reactions to her.
Teaching… our 10-week-old Labrador puppy that it is NOT ok to do her business in the house! Emma is finally starting get the hang of things and I’m only cleaning up on average 3 messes a day in the house! I think Emma is the cutest black lab you can possibly imagine but my goodness is she ever energetic and into everything!
Remembering… my childhood. LOL my parents have recently brought a 13-year-old foster child into their home. My sister and I are both in our twenties so for them it’s pretty much like starting over…but with a 13 year head start and a boy instead of girls. It’s been a bit humorous having my mom call and ask “when you were a kid did (insert non-acceptable behavior) what would I have said or done?.” My initial thought is that he seems to have more of my sister’s personality so we may have to reference her childhood more than mine though.
Restoring… order to my house. A LOT of cleaning was done over the past week and a lot more will be done this week as well. The humidity and heat we have been experiencing in our part of the world has left me wanting to do nothing but sit in front of the fan with Little Man, relax and watch TV.
Well, that was pretty much my last week in a nutshell. Hubby had his first Father’s Day yesterday and mainly spent it working on his car but we also had a family outing to the local swimming pool and put Little Man in the water for the first time…He didn’t really seem to like it or not like it but he didn’t cry which is always a good sign in my book!
Hope you all have a GREAT week!!!!
